Shared in this article are established basic factors that are commonly agreed upon. They include:

1. Purpose / Goals

It’s very important to consider the purpose of the website. What sort of information do you want to deliver to your readers, do you intend to offer a service or to sell a product, promote or deliver message to your audience. A successful website requires clarity of your intentions. This will help your web designer to be able to understand your need and work backwards easily to establish such factors like the message to communicate, management of the site, easy management of the content by the site owner, functionality that will improve the user experience and much more.

2. Navigation System

Your website should be easy to navigate generally. The contents in your website should be easy to locate by your website visitors for them to find what they are looking for. Therefore because of this, fewer links to the relevant content is better and less frustrating to your users. Nowadays many websites use a common standard of user accepted navigation. There is usually the main menu that directs to the main pages for the key contents then there are some other equally important links that are smaller such as Terms and conditions, FAQ, Knowledge base and so on.

3. User Experience

Every single website visitor of your website is searching for some information and the duration your visitor will take to stick around your website will be determined by how the information is organized. These visitors can convert to customers therefore it is very important that the information on your website must be organized and presentable.

4. General Appearance

Generally, a good website should be appealing and attractive. Nowadays, many other factors that influence a good website seem to overtake that overall design. I still believe that a good web designer retain that balance. It is important to consider the targeted demographics while determining which colors or design to implement. This is a factor that a chosen design will most likely be based on.

5. Content Relevancy

In satisfying your audience who in turn become your customers, it is very important that you keep your content relevant; since the chances are that they will become frequent visitors of your website or blog.

6. Fast Loading

Loading time is adversely affected by how heavy a web page is and in Kenya most people using slow internet connection are guaranteed to get discouraged and change to other websites. Heavy contents such as video and images on a single page cause a slow loading.

7. Reliable Web Hosting

A good web hosting company will provide for both safe storage place for your website and a reliable place for your website to be viewed easily by your audience with no interruptions.
